Milton’s Free-For-All Fraud

For decades, Milton Friedman was the rock star of theoretical economics.

Over a period of decades, Friedman’s face became just as recognizable to Americans as those of many Hollywood celebrities.

It could also be said, Friedman’s ubiquitous public appearances while serving up fast food academia to middle America helped to create the concept of television punditry, television personalities which, today, are better known as “experts”.

With numerous television appearances, door stopping publications, and college lectures to his credit, Friedman became the symbolic epitome of free market economics.

But what if, Friedman’s persona was nothing more than a theatrical stage act, a live action cartoon guru backed with nothing more than manufactured academic bona fides to legitimize it?

Recently, a curious piece of footage surfaced, which featured Friedman facing off with a slew of European academics to discuss the validity of his economic theories.

The facial geometry of one those “academics” appeared familiar.

Upon closer scrutiny, this “European academic” turned out to be very familiar indeed.

In fact, the actor portraying the role of this “academic” enjoyed a long career on both British television and on the theatrical stage, before, in the latter stages of his career, moving on to both featured appearances on American television and in award-winning Hollywood cinematic productions.

Of course, upon making this relatively startling discovery, one became suspicious of Friedman as well.

Could it have been possible, as in the case of this “European academic”, Friedman was also a fabricated character scheme?

But now, on to the business at hand.

From a previous installment, one’s loyal readers may recall the author’s positive identification – through thorough investigation utilizing ear biometrics, and both facial and voice pattern recognition analysis –  of Hollywood icon Burt Reynolds AKA Marlon Brando as the host actor behind the “official” historical portrayal of Russian Premiere, Vladimir Putin.

As we’ve discovered, many of America’s “elected” presidents were fictional characters set upon the world stage and portrayed by actors. Now, we are about to discover, America is not the only nation in world history to have participated in the sinister phenomenon we have all come to know as PMRS, or Post-Modern Reality Simulation.

Although many regular visitors and loyal readers may be less familiar with the vintage Hollywood comedy team of Abbott and Costello, and with the once revered Hollywood movie director/producer Mel Brooks, nevertheless, would you believe – though each individual career arc would seem unrelated, all of these characters – former Supreme Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev included –  have one thing in common: An identical host actor? Marlon Brando: Godfather of Hollywood chameleons?

Why do so many so desperately wish to be entertained?

What grand appeal is there for those content to live and die vicariously through celluloid heroes while like children, they sit sheltered in the dark from the dangers of the outside world, in utter thrall before the imaginary, but comforting world of the silver screen?

Could it be, the darkness of the theater serves as a welcomed reprieve, perhaps even a psychological womb for those anonymously huddled together in desperate escape, while collectively hoping the light shed upon them from the mammoth silver screen will bring order to the world they’ve been conditioned to perceive as cold, unforgiving, and unpredictably chaotic?

The celebrity icons featured upon the silver screen – whether cast in the roles of heroes or villains – become worshipful, iconic vessels, mirror-like images upon which the masses project generalized idealizations, consisting of their fearful insecurities or perceivable virtues.

Marlon Brando represented one such icon who, for decades, generations of movie critics and audiences held in the highest esteem. Nevertheless, is it possible the name Marlon Brando was yet another pseudonym created to mask Hollywood’s rampant nepotism?

This installment shall connect this Hollywood legend with another actor and television star alleged to have recently died and with the current Russian Premiere, Vladimir Putin.
