CELEBRITIES SOMETIMES MAKE THE BEST SPIES

In comparison to other commentary found on this blog, this can be classified as lighter fare. Nonetheless, the following may change one’s perspective on the traditional image of what constitutes the classic espionage candidate, derived from a steady diet of decades of James Bond films. Unlikely as it may seem, some of the public’s most beloved celebrities have been employed by CIA and large corporations as spies and counter-intelligence agents. Before one scoffs and snickers, consider the possibilities.

To agencies like CIA, celebrities have two distinct advantages over an agent coming off the training ‘farm’ in Langley. One, celebrities, particularly accomplished and veteran actors and actresses, have greater access and plausible deniability with regard to counter-intelligence activities. Two, because they are accomplished at their craft, transitioning to an assumed identity in the service of a counter-intelligence operation is a rather simple matter. Portraying tailored roles with accompanying disguises and assumed identities or aliases, celebrities as counter-intelligence agents can easily get close to any specified target, even while doing so under the hot glare of the public eye. Some of the following names may not seem immediately familiar, and yet during the inception of the OSS  (Office of Strategic Services), the precursor organization led by General ‘Wild’ William Donovan that later came to be known as CIA, these celebrities were actively recruited, oftentimes in cooperation with British intelligence, to help out with America’s war effort.

escape-to-death_banner1071JULIA CHILD

Admittedly, though her name may not be recognizable to latter day generations, Julia Child, during her celebrity heyday, was a huge television star, beloved by millions. Most famous for over three decades as ‘The French Chef’, Child served in several counter-intelligence efforts during the war and post-war periods prior to 1960. Assigned overseas to ‘listening posts’ both in China and Ceylon, Child quickly rose through the ranks of the OSS, and was even credited as a top-notch operator in William Donovan’s private papers.

FRANK SINATRA

Reputed to have mob ties, many are still not aware that OSS/CIA, worked closely with many mob bosses during the war and post war periods.  One of OSS Director Donovan’s early recruits included pop crooner Frank Sinatra. Sinatra, because he had exclusive access, particularly during the era of the Kennedy administration, often acted as a courier for CIA, carrying valuable information and accompanying other agents on missions around the world.

RONALD DAHL

Best known as the author of the wildly popular “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, later adapted for the classic 1970’s cinematic production starring American comedic actor Gene Wilder, Dahl was employed by the British Secret Service during World War II. Dahl was instructed to spy on the lives of influential and powerful American businessmen and figures in positions of high American politics. Dahl’s reputed method of operation was to become sexually involved with the wives of these powerful men. Physically resembling the classic profile of ‘tall, dark and handsome’, by all reports, Dahl was mightily successful. However, when his clandestine activities led him into the arms of American congresswoman Clare Booth Luce, wife of the publisher of Time magazine, Dahl requested to be reassigned. Apparently, Dahl found the congresswoman emotionally needy, and too sexually voracious for his more conservative tastes. Much to Dahl’s dismay, his spymasters at MI6 reportedly rebuffed his repeated requests. In light of this anecdotal information, one can readily observe where Ian Fleming may have derived the idea for modeling the seminal character of James Bond’s 007.

CHRISTOPHER LEE

Known for his portrayal in the roles of infamous movie villains, renowned British actor Christopher Lee is less well known in playing the role of real life spy in the service of king and country during the second world war. Signing up for the army as a young recruit, Lee was summarily placed in the intelligence division. Later, quickly rising up the ranks, the celebrated actor was recruited for ultra-secret Special Operations Executive as part of “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare”. Shortly after the war’s conclusion, Lee was assigned the dangerous task of tracking down Nazi war criminals. Still later, an interesting anecdote arose out of Lee’s villainous role in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. When told by Jackson to imagine stabbing someone in the back during the filming of a particularly violent scene, Lee drolly replied, ‘he didn’t have to imagine it’.Featured Image -- 5549Featured Image -- 5555

HARRY HOUDINI

Best known for his feats of spectacular, death defying magic, what is lesser known is Houdini served as an allied forces operative during Word War I, in close conjunction with Scotland Yard and the US Secret Service. During his travels to far flung locales in Russia during the nascent Communist revolution, using his magic act as a cover, Houdini’s official assignments would be to secretly collect information on Russian anarchists, for both the US and British governments. In other words, Houdini was what is known in intelligence parlance as a ‘handler’, working closely with Lenin, Trotsky, and other Russian revolutionaries. Turns out, Houdini’s greatest magic trick was escaping detection as a player in the grand conspiratorial scheme of geopolitics. Given that the communist revolution was funded by prominent Wall Street banking families like the Rockefeller’s, Morgans, and Guggenheim’s, and given that the same bankers funded the nascent development of both American and British intelligence agencies, it is a safe bet the elites were doing in Russia what they have always sought to do; namely exploiting new markets with inherent vast pools of natural and human resources, for even greater profits. Using a celebrity such as Houdini to handle other paid operatives no one would suspect of being a spy, one who could travel freely and gain free access where others could not, was certainly a brilliant ploy, in making certain the elite agenda was going to plan.

Raging Falcon is it conspiracy or fiction?

Could it be the elite bankers are presently using the same method of operation in North Korea, utilizing a celebrity to handle their trained puppet in Kim Jong-un? Recently, there have been mainstream news reports of former NBA star Dennis Rodman traveling to North Korea to meet and dine with the reputed Far Eastern dictator.

Odd though it may seem, could it be, Rodman is being used clandestinely by CIA, or perhaps some other intelligence mechanism, to relate messages, gain information, or perhaps as a middle-man, in some clandestine Western directed intelligence operation or other?

Taking into account the aforementioned information, one may very well conclude in the affirmative.Amazon.com/dp/B06XFCXJGW

REVELATION of TRUTH: EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED

When encountering the information supplied from this blog, one must, at times, learn to bear with me. In the last installments, I discussed concepts perhaps unfamiliar, even alien to the consideration of most.

Here, one shall be asked to consider yet another.

What if, the truth of our political reality, apart from conditioned, accepted conventions and ideologies, were readily visible, and yet remained hidden, locked just beyond the door’s of human perception, hidden in the most unexpected places?

Paradoxical?

Yes, but, because everything is perceived within the confines of an established duality; good vs. evil, Democrat vs. Republican, Communism vs. Democracy, Coke vs. Pepsi, human perceptions are often lead in either of those two directions.

And yet, those perceptions are not always what they appear.

Confused?

Well, look at it this way. Most are familiar with the often repeated adage: “Truth is stranger than fiction.”

In the last few installments offered from this blog, I proposed the concept of coded news stories, esoteric numerology codes woven together to create an ongoing mythological narrative transmitted to the human subconscious.

Now, as they say, for something completely different.

NEW WORLD ORDER

The meaning of the word occult, admittedly, carries it with it a rather sinister connotation. To many, particularly to those followers of the world’s major established religions, the word may imply an allegiance to an evil anthropomorphic deity of one kind or another. In truth, occult means nothing other than something that has been hidden from plain view. Many of the conspiracy theorists operating on You Tube, or elsewhere on the internet, namely, Alex Jones, David Icke, will tell you there is a new world order being brought about, to be realized at some undefined, future date.

But, what if, that idea were found to be misguided disinformation, or even erroneous? What if, as discussed in my previous blog series, How Crown Temple rules America (parts I-III), this heralded new world order has always existed, and has been hidden from view?

What if this fact has been hidden all along, and yet broadcast in plain view, but broadcast from sources one would normally consider frivolous entertainment; banal cinematic trifles with a built in obsolescence, to be consumed along with boxes of popcorn, then soon discarded? Although the idea may seem absurd, what if the elites, who own all media, were broadcasting the truth of global governance, not through the televised nightly news or daily newspapers, where one has been conditioned to expect the ‘truth’ delivered prepackaged, but through sources a lot less obvious-Hollywood movies, for example?

The key to understanding the elite maintenance of human mass perception through channels of the modern media, lies in the comprehension of the concept of duality; that lies are presented as truth, and vice versa-reality presented as mirror reflections.

This is the secret in understanding elite methods of operation, and the magic sleight of hand utilized by their media sorcerers. While one has been conditioned to believe magic represents some Harry Potter-like notion of spells, wands, and incantations, the true sorcerers tools exist right in your own homes, and in your own neighborhoods at the local movie cinemas.

Not to belabor the point, but put yet another way, the truth is purposely placed, not in academic or respected journals, not spoken by professors, priests, politicians, or pundits, but obscured in plain ocular view, where it’s discovery is least expected.

escape-to-death_banner1071HOLLYWOOD: SORCERER’S LAIR

Hollywood, the world’s entertainment capital, appropriately enough, is named after the wood of the Holly tree. Historic lore, recorded from the medieval period of human history, documents the bark of the Holly tree was fashioned to make magic wands later used in the casting of spells. Suppose for a moment, what is observed on the silver screen, though perceived as wholly fictional, may in fact be delivering the truth, truth the elites know will be dismissed as fiction?

IN THE FUTURE, THERE IS NO FREEDOM OF CHOICE, THERE IS ONLY ROLLERBALL

Science fiction movies, particularly those of the dystopian variety, have always represented a popular public entertainment staple. Most recently, such examples as Divergent, Hunger Games, and others, have come to represent cautionary tales of an impending future of dreary doom and gloom for mankind, suffering under the boot of oppressive or tyrannical governments. Such stories always feature a hero, or heroine, who not only manages to survive the prevailing oppression, but somehow manages to transcend it, through the act of some heroic deed or other.

While many would consider such latter day films as the best examples of their particular genre, I would suggest one better, or perhaps more prescient.

Going all the way back to 1975’s Rollerball, starring James Caan cast as the avenging hero, along with John Houseman, cast as his villainous foil, one observes a most revealing scene right at the beginning of the film. The premise for the setting of the film takes place in a dystopian society in the year 2018. This dystopian world, where problems of poverty, sickness, racial and national strife have been eliminated, is overseen by a handful of corporate bureaucrats, governing a global population that has, for all intents and purposes, chosen to sacrifice old ideas of individual liberty and even personal decision making, in lieu of possessing the privileges of opulent material comforts.

The game of Rollerball, serving as the main global entertainment, has been created for purposes of mass social conditioning, to convey the idea that individual initiative, or decision making, is in fact futile. When the ruling corporation becomes fearful ‘Jonathan E’, Caan’s character, has become too popular with the people and represents a possible threat to their global hegemony, he is asked to retire:

“You must understand, Jonathon, the game serves a social purpose,” Houseman’s character convey’s. “Nations are bankrupt-gone-there is no longer any tribal warfare, even corporate wars are a thing of the past. Now, we have the majors, executives responsible for the distribution of transport, food, communication, housing, few of us, making decisions on a global level.”

raging-falcon-1706247GLADIATOR

Another pertinent example from the world of cinema, although not presented in the guise of science fiction, is no less prescient. In 2000’s academy award winning spectacle Gladiator, starring Russel Crowe as the gladiatorial hero who defied an emperor, there is this scene, with two senators sitting in the Roman forum, commenting on the imperial games: “I think the emperor knows what Rome is-Rome is the mob. Fear and wonder are a powerful combination,” says Senator Graccus, played by British actor Derek Jacobi. “Conjure magic for them, and you can take away their freedom. The beating heart of Rome is not in the Senate, but it is the sand of the Coliseum-he will bring them death-and they will love him for it!”

Now, forgetting for a moment these words have come from mere actors, read these words from former President Jimmy Carter, then square it with the above quotes:

“In a nation once proud of hard work, strong families, close-knit communities, and our faith in God, too many of us now tend to worship self-indulgence and consumption. Human identity is no longer defined by what one does, but by what one owns. Perhaps it is time for a selfless global society to emerge, in order to restore purpose to empty lives who’ve learned piling up material goods cannot make up for that which lacks enterprise or purpose.”

To some, the comparisons may seem to be a stretch and cannot be reconciled. But, just take a moment, and try and think about it.

Tell me folks, what do you think?

The real purpose of social media (part III)

If the last post concerning this particular topic were not disturbing enough, this should qualify as terrifying.

We explored the idea FB may be running psychological experiments on unwitting users. Well, this shouldn’t be news to anyone by now, since stories of this sort began popping up in mainstream news sources in 2012.

ALL IN THE GAME: NFL FIXED OR LEGIT (PART II)

ragingfalcon11838332

Due to the relatively positive response to the first blog installment concerning this particular subject, one has decided to publish a more in depth follow up. While the other articles appearing on this blog delve into other areas of the global conspiracy shaping humanity, delving behind the scenes of America’s most popular spectator sport will perhaps provide a more palatable avenue for those generally not intrigued by events perceived to be just beyond their grasp. If observed from a larger perspective, sports in general, and the NFL in particular, are not just about entertainment, rather they serve as merely another effective tool, used by the ruling patricians, to shape public perceptions in terms of the overall political and social landscape. In other words, though many rabid fans may choose to differ, America’s grand game of professional football, is about more than just X’s and O’s, about more than just providing an entertainment spectacle for the masses on lazy Sunday afternoons.

Diana: The Myth Made People’s Princess (Part II)

Diana: The Myth Made People’s Princess (Part II)

Hidden well within London’s historic environs, one of Europe’s most renowned cities, unknown to most, sits the epicenter of global financial power, known as the Crown Temple; a city within a city. One wonders, amidst the daily bustle of London, how many commuters, shuffling towards the crowded subways, those caught in the tumultuous jams of honking motorcars, ever contemplate the true significance of this hallowed one square mile, garrisoned by iron gates and ivy decorated red brick stone walls.

In truth, many remain oblivious to the ancient voices still whispering mysterious secrets from ages past, stirring on the winds blown into the city from the stormy English Channel, of  history’s specters haunting hallowed streets obscured by thick cloaks of London fog. Curious, how such imposing marble and brick facades, etched with esoterically symbolic carvings, banners, and insignia’s, could escape even cursory speculation for so long.

But, the elites ruling over us, often hide their darkest secrets in plain sight, perhaps, on the one hand, to beguile, and on the other, to mock those lacking the ears to hear, and the eyes to truly see.

To truly understand the stunning revelations soon to be presented in the final installment of this series of blog posts concerning the mythical figure of Princess Diana, that angelic monarch sold to the world as the ‘people’s princess’, more historical ground work must first be laid. In order to understand the true history of Britain’s current royal family bestowed the throne, one must delve into a revealing thumbnail history of another prominent family, that of the Rothschild’s, perhaps the most influential merchant bankers in not only all of Europe, but perhaps the entire world. In the prior installment, it was established that the Rothschild’s had intermarried with the royal family Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Now, it can be revealed that the family now inhabiting Buckingham palace are pretenders, or more accurately described as proxies. Before the beginning of the 18th century, the Rothschild’s consolidated control over the hallowed bloodlines slated to inherit the right to guard the Stone of Scone, that sacred artifact over which all British monarchs since William the Conqueror in 1066 have been anointed.

THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO

The current family inhabiting the royal throne of Britain is merely acclaimed by the BBC to be legitimate. However, it is well known, although not widely publicized, that since at least 1812, the Rothschild banking dynasty has controlled the royal bloodline of Britain, and that the family known as Saxe-Coburg-Gotha has never been legitimately crowned. In the years of 1812-1815, the Rothschild’s gained control over the royal bloodline’s by effectively bankrupting them through commodity banking bursts. This meant that the Rothschild’s effectively controlled the breeding rights over the royal bloodlines. Every monarch since this pivotal historical event, has essentially been a pretender, not a legitimate monarch, but merely a proxy, working on behalf of the Rothschild dynastic banking interests.

The years 1812-1815 represented an historic transformation in the field of global finance, when it became evident the predominance of the Rothschild’s had arrived. With the creation of wars and rumors of wars, this preeminent family had elevated economic skulduggery to the level of pure art form. To families such as the Rothschild’s, war is the engine that propels forward the issue of interest bearing bonds to both governments and monarchs alike. Perhaps, for this reason alone, the battle of Waterloo proved to be a watershed event for monopolized control over Europe’s financial future, and in many ways laid the groundwork for the establishment and eventual emergence of the European Union. Although historian’s rarely, if at all, attempt to link the two events, the war of 1812 in America, and the meeting of Napoleon’s forces with those of the British Lord Wellington at Waterloo, an historic battlefield located in what is now known as Belgium, are inextricably linked. It was no accident, the end of Napoleon’s exile happened to coincide with the attack by British forces on the newly erected American capital of Washington. This conflict signaled, with the help of Rothschild agent Alexander Hamilton, the construction of  a central banking concern in the former British colonies. Creating order out of chaos has proven to be an integral element in the formation of the Rothschild family mythology. How is it, one may inquire, the Rothschild’s were able to pull off this monumental coup?  By this time in Europe’s history the Rothschild dynasty, through the issue of heavy personal loans, had most of the aristocracy in their back pocket. In essence, by the beginning of the 19th century, most of Europe’s prominent aristocracy, including such heralded historical figures as Prince Metternich and the royal house of Hesse, if not all of the royal families of Europe, were financially indebted to Rothschild banking establishments.

Given these propitious conditions, it was a relatively simple matter for Nathan Rothschild, then the family patriarch, to pull off a ruse of monumental proportions on that hot summer day on the bloody and gun powder fogged battlefield of Waterloo. Nathan dispatched a sophisticated courier system, extending from the battlefield to the French shores just a short sailing distance from London’s stock exchange. Ahead of all other couriers bringing up to date news of the battle’s progress, Nathan’s courier arrived first, heralding news that Wellington had in fact been defeated by Napoleon’s forces. The stock exchanged panicked, thinking now that Napoleon was once more loose on the European continent to commit unabated mayhem, their financial interests were in dire peril. Thoroughly duped and dismayed, the brokers looked on with glum expressions as the bond market plummeted, at which time Nathan cleverly stepped in and bought them up at bargain prices, ensuring his family’s perpetual hegemony over the London stock market. Heinrich Heine, a well known patron of the house of Rothschild, was thereafter often quoted remarking, “money is the god of our time, and the Rothschild’s are it’s greatest profits.” In addition to industrial, mining, oil, as well as gold and silver interests, the Rothschild multi-national empire was one of the first to recognize the growing need for rail travel, not only on the European continent, but across the ocean in America. To ensure Rothschild owned rail expansion in America proceeded unmolested, Nathan, the family patriarch, would hire agents to disrupt the successful efforts of competition. Rothschild agents were routinely hired to commit mayhem and outright acts of terrorism, robbing or hijacking those trains owned and operated by Rothschild competitors, and destroying newly laid tracks with dynamite. Some of these Rothschild agents are well known to American historical mythology as Jesse James and Billy the kid, proving that in the eyes of those who write the history books, terrorists can easily be transformed into mythological heroes. Such panegyrics could only be created by those controlling the printed word, and the Rothschild dynasty observed this was a central instrument in influencing financial and political perceptions, but perhaps just as importantly, public opinion. Indeed, the Rothschild’s widespread ownership of the press, not only in Europe but in America, only gained a stronger foothold as the nineteenth century progressed, a grand influence that hasn’t been challenged to the present day. It is with this instrument, held firmly within the ownership grasp of the Rothschild dynasty, that the proletarian occupation of journalism became the grand art of professional sorcery.

As one shall observe in the next installment, this is the very same magic skillfully utilized to create out of whole cloth the mythology of the people’s princess, Diana!

EXCERPT FROM PROLOGUE: ESCAPE TO DEATH (AVAILABLE NOW @ Amazon in PAPERBACK/KINDLE!)

escape-to-death-11068Beltane, the witches holiday, was soon breaking, and death was the only escape from danger.

Humid Hollywood night, furious neon glow muted beneath smog’s smothering cloak. From starry panorama above, a trident spear of lightning blazed down upon boulevard’s bustling traffic. Rainbows of light flickered and steadily dimmed: was there a sinister hand somewhere turning a dial? All the way out from North Hollywood, young Clover finally emerged from the cab, Chinchilla coat draped about her swan-like neck. The isolated Canyon bungalow was perched beneath a lattice of oak branches.

A chilled wind’s bellowing voice began to warn of omens, and with deliberation, Clover approached the front door. She’d heard about ‘Sister’ Lauren Silverman, about the dark soul beneath sweet veneer. In a mere three seasons, Silverman had usurped Oprah Winfrey’s grand status as queen of daytime television. A memory flashed, and she thought of her father back in Newville. She had escaped from the small town, and out to the big city, and lived to tell about it, so far. Those who couldn’t find love from their families had to run away and somehow find it somewhere else. Only now, her love came with a steep price attached, and there were many, including ‘Sister’ Silverman, willing to pay.

“This gig should be a choice payday,” Clover considered, as she reached for the silver doorknob.

Looking back over her shoulder, she saw the cab roar back down the winding canyon road, flickering tail lights swallowed into the midnight murk. Stepping inside, Clover perused the drug fueled mayhem, half-naked human zombies stumbling and drooling, bloodshot eyes fixed into blank stares. “Good, you’re finally here,” a giddy voice lisped. Startled, Clover trained ebony eyes on the pale skinned scarecrow. “Hi, I’m Daryl,” the gregarious scarecrow lisped. “Lauren is waiting for you,” he said, casting a cocaine dusted finger towards a winding staircase. “In the room, upstairs.”

Clover swept through the gathering and wobbled up the winding stairs in her candy apple red Jimmy Choo’s. Turning right at the top of the golden banister, she saw the famous face peek out from the bedroom door. “Oh yes,” Silverman gushed, smile slithering across her tanned face. “I think you’re going to be just what I need!” Proceeding into the room, Silverman quickly locked the door, azure eyes flashing like bright neon. “You want a glass of bubbly,” Silverman graciously asked, pointing to a well-stocked bar in the corner. “I’ve got some vintage Dom Perigon.” “Whatever you say sister,” Clover seductively cooed, flashing her alabaster teeth. “Because what I’ve got is just as choice.” Silverman pulled the bottle from the ice and filled a pair of frosted flutes. Clover drew close to Silverman while she poured, seductively whispering. “I’ve got something you’ll enjoy better than the vintage champagne!” Slowly, the black Chinchilla coat fell to the plush red carpet, revealing perfect pear shaped hips and long thoroughbred legs. Silverman stood shocked silent. Skin against sultry skin, they touched, tongues furiously floating behind devouring lips. Clover felt Silverman’s hand drift, fingers exploring the moist sanctuary between her parted thighs. Silverman suddenly jerked her hand away, something wasn’t right.

“Holy shit,” Silverman gasped. “You’re a god damned tranny, Jesus,”  she bellowed, eyes scorched with rage. “Crenshaw is going to pay for this,” Silverman hissed.

CRACK!

Champagne and shattered glass rained down on Clover’s head, blood seeping from the torn skin above her dark brow.

The door burst open.

“Lauren, I heard an awful commotion?”

Silverman stood over the prostitute prone on the carpet, grasping the half-shattered bottle in her hands. Crenshaw looked down at the cell phone spilled from the prostitute’s black Gucci purse. “Whatever do we do about this,” Crenshaw said, looking uncharacteristically befuddled. Feeling fear’s sinister specter beginning to steadily creep, Crenshaw suddenly knelt, feeling for a pulse. “Lauren,” he gasped. “The poor creature’s barely bloody breathing.” “Well,” Silverman sharply replied. “Soon, she won’t be. Get all the girls together Crenshaw,” she schemed. “We’re taking her deep into the Canyon oaks. And the phone, we’ll bury it with her. We’re going to cover up the evidence, forensics, you know?”

Horror steadily rimmed Crenshaw’s widening eyes as he stood looking over the gruesome scene. “Lauren,” Crenshaw gulped. “Even though I have the fire and police chief under my thumb, what if a loved one hire’s a cagey private detective? And, at any rate, just how do you propose to completely cover up the forensics, when you did the dirty deed in the house. Someone’s bound to find something, if they’re looking.” “We’ll burn the place down, of course,” Lauren explained.

Crenshaw’s mind whirled askew. It was if she were talking about something as simple as taking out the trash.

“Steinmetz won’t miss it. He only uses it as a discreet hideaway, somewhere his wife won’t find him with his whores. The accountants will record it as a tax write-off. Now, let’s go Crenshaw,” Lauren stubbornly demanded. “Just play along, and do what I ask!”

***

Kidnapped, Clover was taken far away, to some deserted canyon grotto, where swarming black robed witches tied her down with thick rope to a behemoth onyx altar. Flickering candle flames pierced midnight’s impenetrable darkness. “Let the ceremony commence,” came the commanding wail from underneath dark hooded robe. “Oh blessed Gaia,” the strained alto bellowed into the starry midnight. “We humbly present this sacrifice, that in partaking of the adrenochrome, magic elixir of eternal life, we might be accepted into holy fellowship. To be reborn from your protective womb of mother earth.”

Fevered chants grew to a bellowing apex. Grasped within white knuckled grip, a deathly sharp blade hoisted heavenward. Breathless moment, and the blade descended upon the squirming sacrifice, shimmering in shards of scattered moonlight. Clover twitched and began to somehow gain back consciousness.

“Am I in hell already,” she wondered.

Stark recognition flashed in her eyes, bloodied head throbbing while terror’s adrenaline madly raced. With great force, the blade plunged, renting naked ebony flesh, imprisoned in sheets of cold sweat. Echoes of her pained wails were swept away, carried by a chilled zephyr to a ring of tall oaks bending boughs. Blood gushed into the awaiting chalice passed from one set of hungering lips to the next. Until, finally, all were sated. Gasping last breaths, an astonished Clover suddenly hovered over the scenes mad mayhem, watching as wild torch flame engulfed the blood drenched body. Merrily, the coven danced rings around the flaming pyre.

Later, she watched as the man named Crenshaw supervised a trio of lackeys burying the charred remains in the center of a ring of tall oaks. “What do you want to do with the phone Mr. Crenshaw,” asked one of the hulking lackeys hoisting a shovel. “Bury it with the rest, under the oaks. Lauren wants it that way, something about a ley line and the blessing of bloody mother Gaia,” Crenshaw sarcastically suggested.

Clover found this fascinating, she was there with living humans, still able to observe everything. And yet, she couldn’t interact with them, as if some invisible line or barrier had been drawn. But, what was it this British guy, Crenshaw, said about a ley line? “I’ve got to find a way to break through,” she thought. Somehow, death allowed her to notice things the living could not, or seemed at least oblivious. She watched the workman hoisting shovels in to the dark loam, lowering her remains into the shallow hole. Then, one of them tossed her cell phone into the open grave before they sealed it over with some boulders collected from nearby. “I’d say it’s done, Mr. Crenshaw,” one of the workman grunted, tossing one last clump of dirt. “Very well gentlemen,” he acknowledged, sighing with relief. “Lauren shall certainly be pleased.”

“At last, the pain is over now,” Clover happily thought.

WHY POP MUSIC IS AMERICA’S FAVORITE DRUG!

raging-falcon-1706247Have you never wondered why popular songs are so insatiably addictive? One is familiar with the feeling: A favorite popular song comes on the radio, and when it is over, you cannot wait to hear it again. This is akin to a habitual cigarette smoker who inordinately craves their next nicotine fix or risks feeling as if they might die without it. Although music, unlike cigarettes or street drugs, is not a commodity one physically possesses in hand, the overall impact, both psychological and physical, is equally powerful, if not exponentially more so.

THROUGH REPETITION COMES ADDICTION

Might there be some supernatural component to this habit forming potential-to what is owed one’s inability to resist a particular pop song again and again, even if it seems to possess no redeeming artistic value? Well, the short answer is no, there is nothing supernatural about this seemingly inexplicable phenomenon. But, it is scientific, based on a tried and true formula those in the music industry exploit time and again-REPETITION! Most assume a pop song receives maximum exposure because it is popular. Rather, the opposite is true-a pop song becomes popular merely because it receives maximum exposure. We live in a world of opposites and duality flipped in the mirror’s image. Television, and radio, are the tools of the media sorcerers to manipulate human perception and consciousness into whatever shape desired. Pop music is a systematic mind weapon.

Just as an aside-though this may sound dubious to some-the overall quality of today’s pop music does not measure up to that of previous decades. In fact, one could claim that the  quality of pop music heard today on America’s airwaves has deteriorated considerably-to the point of resembling nothing even remotely musical. But, the public at large may lack perspective. Music is an integral part of radio programming precisely because it stimulates advertising which in turn increases commerce-the sale of marketable commodities and material goods. The same principles used to popularize one three minute pop song in bygone era’s still apply today. And, when it comes to popular music, objective musical merit and mass popularity are mutually exclusive. The crux of the principle is this: the popularity of any pop song is predicated on how often it is played. In modern media parlance, this is called ‘rotation’. Although it isn’t readily mentioned by industry insiders, the practice of manipulating the pop charts is quite common. Record companies allot millions to get their artists prime rotation spots in all major markets, and for good reason. Prime advertising placement and maximum rotation, or lack thereof, can make or break a potential hit song. But, the artists themselves, are merely being used to sell products. Creating art for art’s sake is hardly a consideration in terms of the larger picture of global commerce.

THEODORE ADORNO-MAD SCIENTIST of POP

The man responsible for the concept of radio programming and radio programming rotation was named Theodore Adorno. Adorno was a product of the Frankfurt school of academic studies, a truly ground breaking scientist who met with some measure of notoriety early in his career experimenting with abstract music theory, studying the effects of certain musical forms on human psychological responses and brain wave activity. In essence, Adorno keenly observed the theories derived from Freud and Jung could be accurately applied to the arena of mass popular music. Through meticulous research, Adorno was able to observe the effects of music on the human subconscious and conscious mind.

GOLDEN AGE OF RADIO

Early on, the newly developed technology of radio served as a sociological and psychological experimental tool. Orson Welles infamous ‘alien invasion’ broadcast from the Mercury theater during the early stages of the American depression was a prime example of this. Elite banking families owning and operating all major media, were curious to observe what effects, whether detrimental or positive, certain types of programming had on the public mind. During the heyday of radio in the 1930’s, Adorno was commissioned by the Rockefeller banking dynasty to perform a study on the role popular broadcast music had on determining programming popularity. His findings, even today, are found to be quite extraordinary. First, Adorno found the relationship between quality of programming and public popularity were quite incidental. Instead, he found the popularity of a particular musical selection is not derived from objective judgement of overall artistic merit, bur rather from how often is is presented within the context of radio formatting and programming. Common to the most popular songs, he found, were identifiable elements as distinguished from those found to be less popular. He was able to determine that the more often a key song phrase, or ‘hook’ was repeated, accompanied by a simple and easily remembered elementary word phrase, contributed to a greater degree of popularity than those selections placing too many demands on the public ear. The simpler and more memorable, and perhaps more pleasurably primitive a piece of music, the more popular it became. Adorno also identified elements common and unique to the structure of popular song selections, in that they contained two key musical attributes. One of these Adorno termed ‘melodic shapes’; the unique way that a key phrase of music ascends and descends quickly up and down the musical scale, in essence forming a perfect ‘audio sound circle’ in the listeners mind. Another common concept Adorno identified was the consistent uniformity of chord interval or note structure, interrupted by sudden or unexpected chord changes at key points within the popular arrangement. In other words, when the repetitiveness of certain notes in the beginning verses is surprisingly broken up by a sudden and shimmering chord alteration in the chorus, or key hook, the public popularity of a song was observed to increase exponentially. In addition, Adorno found that these unique musical attributes, when utilized judiciously and to maximum effectiveness, had a profound effect on the human mind. He discovered that when these two key elements are paired within any popular musical arrangement, the pleasure centers of the brain were more likely to be stimulated, causing the listener to crave hearing the song again, over and over, regardless of objective artistic merit.

ROBERT ZOJONC

This curious transition of the human mind after repeated exposure to popular pieces of music was corroborated in the 1960’s by Robert Zojonc. Zojonc found through experimentation that the popularity of music and the frequency with which it is played are inextricably related. In other words, the more times one hears a piece of music containing the right combination of previously mentioned ingredients, the more likely the pleasure centers of the brain are positively activated. One can only imagine how this could be applied to modern advertising. As long as the public could be manipulated to make the requisite emotional investment in the musical jingle chosen to accompany the add copy, the more likely they were to buy the product being sold.  Taking it further, Zojonc found the same pleasure principles applied to other art forms; photographs, paintings, even sculpture. Zojonc also discovered that the same pleasure regions of the human brain stimulated by repeated exposure to popular music are identical to those activated by repeated drug abuse. Discomforting as these findings may be, is it any wonder bad music continues to play such a prominent role in American culture? It may also help to explain as to why Mozart, Bach and Beethoven, composers of classical antiquity, continue to languish in relative obscurity in comparison to the massive success enjoyed by acts such as Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and Jay Z.

In the words of Theodore Adorno himself, art is magic delivered from the lie of being truth.
